Michaela pursues scientific writing in the spirit of the old adage "Truth is stranger than fiction." She will graduate from Colorado State University in Fort Collins with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a B.A. in Journalism and Media Communication in May 2016.
She has worked for the Journal of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Excellence, an international publication recognized by the Library of Congress. She has also worked on two research teams studying plant defense in common mullein and iron deficiency in Arabidopsis. She strongly believes that a message that lacks meaning cannot be made meaningful by eloquence. Likewise, a brilliant message can be made inane by unclear communication. She has a diverse skill set that includes both journalism techniques and scientific inquiry. Check out her work and her resume to learn more. |
